Call for proposals: Encyclopedia of Queer Studies in Education

The Encyclopedia of Queer Studies in Education will be edited by Kamden Strunk and Stephanie Anne Shelton and published by Brill in the Encyclopedias of Critical Understandings in Education series.

We are seeking authors for a number of encyclopedia entries. Completed entries will be 500-2,000 words in length (including references and any other elements of the entry), and will be written using a style template from Brill. Entries will be due by February 5th, 2021. The audience for the encyclopedia will be wide-ranging, including community members, K-12 and postsecondary educators, students, and scholars. As a result, entries should be written to a generalist audience. All entries should be clear about their connection to queer studies in education.

If you are interested in authoring an entry, you can view the list of entries at Entries with a name next to them have already been assigned to an author, but entries without a name are open for author proposals.

To propose authoring an entry, submit your contact information and an abstract of no more than 100 words using the form at

Authors will be notified of the status of their proposal on a rolling basis and provided additional information on formatting and requirements.
