Call for Proposals and Award Nominations
5-7 March 2027 (ONLINE)
The 2027 ISAN will provide scholars and practitioners of all experience levels an opportunity to present their autoethnographic and personal narrative projects and to socialize with scholars across a variety of disciplines.
Proposals to present at the 2027 ISAN are invited. The symposium will feature sessions in six languages: Turkish, Spanish, Japanese, German, English, and Portuguese. The deadline to submit a proposal is 15 September 2026.
Nominations for six awards are sought: Outstanding Article, Outstanding Book Chapter, Early Career Award, Bochner and Ellis Resonance Award, Goodall and Trujillo Award in Narrative Ethnography (Book), and the Ellis Bochner Autoethnography and Personal Narrative Research Award (Article | Chapter).
These awards will be presented at the 2027 ISAN. The deadline to submit an award nomination is 15 August 2026.
