Conference and workshop on Photovoice
Where: Ball State University, Indiana
When: Workshop: June 4-5 and Conference: June 6, 2020.
The purpose of this conference is to bring together scholars currently engaged in better understanding and using the photovoice methodology to advance our collective knowledge and application of the approach.
Call for Proposals. We request proposals that fall into one of the following categories: (a) photovoice project, (b) photovoice methodology, or (c) photovoice as pedagogy. Photovoice project refers to presentations wherein researchers who have used photovoice as a methodological approach discuss their work (e.g., discuss project findings). Photovoice methodology refers to presentations wherein aspects of the photovoice methodology and/or methods are discussed (e.g., theoretical underpinnings, camera type used, interview/focus group techniques). Photovoice as pedagogy refers to sessions dedicated to the use of photovoice as a teaching approach (e.g., infusion of a photovoice project into a college course).
A complete proposal includes the following information:
- Corresponding presenter’s name, contact information, and institutional affiliation.
- Co-presenters’ names and institutional affiliations (if applicable).
- Presentation title.
- Abstract of no more than 150 words.
- Categorical designation (photovoice project, photovoice methodology, or photovoice as pedagogy).
Click HERE to submit your proposal. The deadline for proposal submissions is Friday, March 6, 2020, at 5 pm (EST). Acceptance/rejection notice—along with presentation time and location—will be sent to the corresponding presenter via email on or by Friday, April 3, 2020.
